What we collect, why, and who else sees it.

The photo you upload

Your pet photo is used to generate artwork previews. It is sent to Google's Gemini API for image processing, and it is held only for the length of your working session — sessions are cleared after about six hours of inactivity. We do not use your photo to train anything, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the processors listed below.

What we keep when you order

The artwork you picked.
Your email address, so we can send your order and tell you when it ships.
For physical orders, the name, shipping address and phone number you enter at checkout. The printer passes the phone number to the delivery carrier.

We keep these to fulfill and support your order.

If you save a card for later, we keep the email address you give us so we can send you the link back to it, and whether you ticked the box for occasional updates. Every occasional-update email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time — once you do, that address is never sent another one.

Who else handles your information

Stripe — payment processing. Your card or other payment details go directly to Stripe, or through Stripe to Klarna, Affirm, Cash App or Amazon Pay if you choose one of those; we never see or store them.
Gelato — prints and ships greeting cards. Receives your name, shipping address, email address, phone number, and the artwork to print.
Gooten — prints and ships canvas prints. Receives the same details for a canvas order.
Resend — sends our emails to you: order confirmations, shipping notices, and saved-card links.
Google Gemini API — processes your uploaded photo to generate the artwork.

Analytics & cookies

There are no user accounts. We use a small first-party analytics beacon to see which pages and styles are popular and whether people are on a phone, tablet or desktop; it sets no cookies and never records your name, email, browser details, or raw IP address. Because advertising is currently running, we also use Meta’s Pixel and Conversions API to measure ad performance — this sets Meta cookies in your browser. Our server passes Meta the identifiers from those cookies, your IP address and your browser type, together with the events “style viewed”, “added to cart”, “photo uploaded”, “checkout started” and “purchase”, and, for a purchase, a securely hashed version of your email address (never the address itself). Meta uses these to match ad activity to people on its platforms. We keep your IP address and browser type only until the event has been delivered to Meta (and, for a purchase, on the order record). Also, when you type your email address into a form on our site, Meta’s Pixel may send Meta a hashed copy of it (scrambled, not readable) to match ad activity.

To ask what we hold about you, or to have your order records deleted, email support@illustratedpet.com. Note that we cannot recall an order already sent to the printer.
